Nokia N86 8mp

I got the opportunity to try out the Nokia N86 8mp phone for a few days and here is some comments!

* Really nice camera!

* Using a phone with an “old-fashioned” keyboard after using first a E61i and then a Nokia E71 (my current phone) really takes a while to get used to. Really, why would you go back??

* I was unable to get Lotus Traveler running - it installs fine, but when trying to connect to the server it fails. Using the same settings as on my E71 and it works brilliant.

* The format is very slim and it fits in a pocket very easy. The build quality is also excellent and with a bright and very readable screen it’s very nice to use.

* It connects and sync nicely with my BMW bluetooth system (as seems most Nokias do).

* The performance of the phone is somewhat disappointing - it’s lagging in the menus especially in the media sections (browsing photos, etc).

All together it’s a nice phone but it fails as a business phone due to the (missing) keyboard and the fact that I’m unable to use Lotus Traveler on it.

  2. I understood that eventually the Lotus Travel did work on the N86 with the setting of the E71. Can you send instructions to install the lotus traveler on N86

  3. Ah, my fault - I should write it more clearly… The settings I tried on the N86 was the ones from my E71. On the E71 it works perfect, but it fails to connect on the N86. No idea why though…
